Here is Univesity of Winchester’s response to our Freedom of Information request:

Q: Does your HE establishment have a policy on the use of fur?

A: After checking with specialist colleagues at the University, and after checks were made, as far as we are aware there is no University of Winchester policy on fur and we don’t believe the University has one.

Q: Does real fur feature in any of your fashion or design courses, and if so, in what way?

A: No

Q: What financial support, including sponsored competitions do you receive from the fur industry?

A: After checking with specialist colleagues, The University doesn’t believe it receives any support from the fur industry, and the University is not aware of any competitions supported by the fur industry

Q: Does your HE establishment allow or facilitate the fur industry to promote design competitions, summer schools, sponsorships, internships, or scholarships?

A: No

This university has no clear stance on the use of fur.
