The Council currently has 3 markets.
The markets are: High Street, Sutton; The Market Wrythe Lane – Rosehill; Woodmansterne Lane
Q: Do you allow stall holders at your markets to sell real fur? (including small items such as knitted hats with fur bobbles, or key rings with fur trims etc.
A: We do not have a banned commodities list but each applicant is be required to give us details of what they propose to sell and we have the ability to ban items should the council deem it necessary. I can confirm no market trader currently sells real fur and we would not allow a trader to do this.
The Council does not prohibit the sale of real fur. They have asked to see our Fur Free Markets policy to consider.
Real fur is cruel and unnecessary. Please urge the Council to ban the sale of real fur on their markets and adopt the official Fur Free Markets policy by contacting Group Manager, Ms Jan Gransden jan.gransden@sutton.gov.uk
