Here is the Council’s response to our FoI request:
Q: Do you allow stall holders at your markets to sell real fur? (including small items such as knitted hats with fur bobbles, or key rings with fur trims etc.
A: The only reference to fur appears in Section 5 of our Animal Welfare charter. [This reads: ‘The Council will take account of animal welfare in day to day operations and decision making processes. This will be acheived by….opposing the use of fur’]
