London Borough of Brent Council has the following markets: This authority currently does not manage any markets. It does allow use of its land for fairs and festivals. In addition, we regularly licence food and trading stalls on permanent or occasional basis. There are traders during Wembley event days as well. These are not outsourced or managed by another body. Impossible to list all the traders we licence. However, whatever the event the local authority does not allow sale of animal fur or any performing animal acts.

Here is the Council’s response to our Freedom of Information request:

Q: Do you allow stall holders at your markets to sell real fur? (including small items such as knitted hats with fur bobbles, or key rings with fur trims etc.

A:  No (see above)

However, we are unaware of any official policy documents or guidelines to enforce this.
