Respect for Animals speaks at fashion event in China

In October 2022, Respect for Animals took part in ACTAsia’s Compassion In Fashion Forum, which, for the first time, was a part of Shenzhen Fashion Week.

The event was organised by our close colleagues ACTAsia, a group that campaigns against fur in China.

Richard Bissett from Respect for Animals remotely presented our findings about the environmental impact of the fur industry, in from of attendees in Shenzhen and thousands of others dialing in from elsewhere in China.

At the event, Richard said:

“On top of animal welfare failures, the fur industry is guilty, globally, of greenwashing. In reality, fur is a resource-intensive, highly polluting industry, with little regard for its impact on biodiversity or the environment. Fur is not green.”
